This site is a tribute to all who remember WindCave, the "have-bus-will-travel" underground roaming musical phenomenon born of Santa Barbara painted caves and raised in Santa Cruz by a pack of wild hippies. You know who you are, perhaps you are even in the Family Photo Album! We invite you to savor the full-bodied vintage that was WindCave. Distilled from hundreds of shows circa 1990-1996, and aged in oak casks until Fall Harvest 2001, these pages offer up a nostalgic romp through those quaint halcyon days of yore. It was a time just before cell-phones, email, and internet... definitely before CD-ROM burners, hard disk recording, and MP3's. It took a little bit of luck, and a family loan just to squeeze out our first and only studio recording session and press a thousand CD's. It took everything we had to stay on that bus, and on that stage, keeping the credit cards from maxing out, while living one-love, one-cash-envelope. To accomplish this we took on a silent member of the band, our driver, axis of our wheel, who received no compensation other than our dubious brotherhood. We relied heavily on the hospitality of so many generous souls over the years, and we relied on each other in ways we never knew was possible until we tried. Deepest thanks to all who were a part of it.
